Serving as a contemporary memento mori, this performance art serves to remind viewers that everything, even the memories of the people we love, fades with time.

Inspired by the abundance of youth deaths in my home town of Sydney, NS, this project consisted of four plaster sculptures that were smashed, unannounced, to reveal flowers that were hidden inside. The only way to get to the flowers is to smash the sculptures and even then, the viewer must realize that the flowers too will fade and nothing will eventually remain. 

The artwork was performed at the 2018 Lumière Art-at-Night Festival in Sydney, NS.
